Lucy, Month Seven

Lucy,

Has it really been 7 months already? You are developing quite a big personality! It is fun to see you learn new things. Every time you learn something new you will do it almost constantly for several days and then move onto the next thing.

We are still on “tooth watch 09”. Nothing yet. You go through times when you are trying so hard for those things to make an appearance. You will gnaw on a toy like crazy until you are yelling at the toy for daring to make your gums hurt. One week they will really be bugging you and then the next week it all just seems to go away and still no teeth.

You still aren’t very interested in eating solids. We keep tryin’, you keep spitting it out, screaming, or just spreading it all over your face, head, clothes, and mommy.

You are the sweetest little cuddly love bug first thing in the morning. You don’t wake up crying. I usually find you in your crib on all fours looking around. When I pick you up you are so genuinely happy to see me. You give me a big open mouth toothless grin and it makes me melt. Then I walk you in to our room and you see your dad and your little face lights up again.

You started babbling this month. You love “talking” to us especially when it is time for you to go to bed. You lay there telling us stories in your own language. Your favorite words sound like “NaNaNaNa” and I am trying so hard to turn that into a “MaMaMaMa”. You also started shaking your head back and forth. I think you might have just realized that your head moves that way.

You are finding your own way of getting around. I can’t put you down on the floor and walk away for even a minute without finding you all the way across the room. Your dad and I are seriously needing to baby proof this house. You roll like a maniac and have started getting on your hands and knees and scooting backwards. I usually find you jammed under the coffee table (where you are surprisingly content) or stuck in a corner (which makes you mad mad mad). You are perfecting your sitting up skill. Rarely do you topple over anymore unless you are reaching really far for something.

You love when we read you books. As soon as we get one out your arms and legs start flailing around and you grin. You look back and forth between the book and whoever is reading it. I hope this passion for reading continues!

You started swimming classes this month at our gym! You really like the water and the interaction with the other babies. The instructor even dunked you under the water at your first class! You came up with look of surprise on your face but didn’t seem to mind it at all! You are the youngest and teeniest one in your class. Everyone commented on how adorable you are in your little pink bathing suit.

Lucy, I am far from being a perfect. I am trying my hardest to do what is best for you. You have made my job easy by being such a good, happy baby. I am so lucky that God picked me to be your mom.

Love,
Mommy

  1. Dear Lucy,

Your Mom is one of the most incredible mom's that I know...and I know a lot of mom's. She makes sacrifices for you that most mother's do not choose to make for their babies. She is too hard on herself, like most of us but I thought you should know that looking from the outside, she is an overachiever. You are well taken care of, baby doll!
