I need to be reminded today that this too will pass.
Lucy has decided that sleeping is no fun when there are so many things around her to discover. This past week she has been a great sleeper between the hours of 8pm and 11:30pm. Almost exactly the time I settle in and fall asleep she wakes up and has no plans on falling back to sleep. Ever. I think we got spoiled with her sleeping 12 hours at night and only waking up for 20 minutes to eat sometime during those 12 hours. I tried not to brag but I did. Now look where that got me. ;)
As a side note...cosleeping isn't helping. She spends all night playing with my nose holes, eyes, hair and kicking me in the gut, "talking", giggling, fussing, etc. Suggestions are welcomed.

We've been known to enjoy co-sleeping arrangements with Lena from time to time. However, I find that it doesn't so much help with getting more sleep...but rather it allows the baby to be able to scream directly into your ear.

don't worry, it's normal! at least i hope so, since both my kids went through times like that :) we just took turns getting up with them and they eventually got through the phase. it's hard, though. maybe have a big day out where she gets really tired and will sleep a little longer at night? then hopefully she will gradually get back on track? i don't know.
ReplyDeletewe are co-sleepers here, but i know some kids are just not geared for it. so no real advice here except...this too shall pass :)
Oh my gosh. You make me laugh and yet I know how not funny it is. I have been complaining that Steven is such an early riser. He's got me up anywhere between 5-6:30am daily and still wakes up 2-3x a night to eat. Co-sleeping does sometimes help Steven in the early morning hours but when he's up, he's up so it doesn't always work. Maggie did something similar to Lucy. She slept 12-14 hours for 6 weeks of her life and then started waking up often. Why do kids do this to us? I have no advice. I'm sorry. It just sucks. : )
