2009 according to my iphone

I remember when this gadget called the iphone was first announced. I overheard someone say that it was going to change the world. I scoffed at the original $600 price tag. I mean $600 for a phone? Sheesh. And then they came out. And all of my nerdy coworkers stood in line to get theirs. And then the price dropped. So I finally joined the bandwagon.

I still have my first generation iphone. Not 3G, not 3Gs, just a regular ole iphone. And I can't live without it. I feel, well, connected when I have it. My email, internet, camera, many many fun apps that have kept me busy (or wasted my time) and it even works as a phone.

The other thing about always having this handy gadget on me is the camera. I have a camera with me at all times. I don't have to lug around my Nikon or even my little casio point and shoot. I always have a camera with me. So here's a little sampling of what my iphone helped me to record when I didn't have my camera with me...

Waaaawrus

Have you ever gotten hung up on something that you think is hilarious but you’re the only one?

I had been watching some animal planet program with a British narrator. I love a British accent. It makes everything sound, um, classy. I especially like the way they say Walrus. Waawrus. So I decided to try to work the word Waaawrus into every conversation with my best British accent. It was hilarious. To me.

But I’m not the only one. All weekend Jimmy was singing Kanye’s song “Longer, Better, Faster, Stronger”. You know it “N-n-n-now th-that don’t kill me can only make me stronger. I need you to hurry up now…”. It wasn’t just the song that he was singing but the way he was singing it. He was trying to duplicate all the strange special effects in the song. He would sing it and laugh. Then he would sing the same line over and over and laugh. He was really cracking himself up.

I guess we were mostly cracking ourselves up and not each other so much.
