I'm feeling good. I just had a great workout. At home. I generally find it hard to get in a good workout at home. The couch and tv are waaaay too close. And so is the refrigerator. And the computer. And the dog. Too many distractions. If I go to the gym I know I'm there for at least an hour so I usually make the best of it. And being a very competitive person, I see all the people around me working out and want to keep up or do better than them. Or at the very least just make it through my hour there.
But tonight I had a good workout at home. And in the process made a few observations about the benefits of working out at home instead of the gym...
1. It doesn't matter what I wear. Sweatpants and an old tank top. Doesn't matter...no one is looking.
2. If I feel like breaking into song I totally can. Or into dance.
3. I don't have to drive home after because I'm already home.
4. I don't have to be embarrassed if I fall off the treadmill.
5. I don't have to worry about the locker room naked people awkwardness.

I work out at home for all of these reasons, as well. : )
ReplyDeletei concur! i've been working out at home, too, lately. it's hard for me cuz anytime i am doing anything on the floor, my 3-year-old comes and sits on me :) but at least no one cares about my ripped shorts and underboob sweat. love #5 :)
