ramblings of a stay at home mom

Today I vacuumed the vacuum. I might be losing my mind.

It's been a bit of a slow week. Generally I have a lot of stuff planned for myself and for Lucy and I to do during the week. I usually have some kind of freelance work to do during her nap times and in the evenings...between Armstrong White, the GM project that has been coming in in spurts over the past 5 years, and now the stationary design company, there is usually something going on. But this week...nothing. And my social calendar wasn't much to be proud of either. Everyone must be in hibernation. Oh, and Jimmy has been working late every night making the days feel so much longer. I keep dreaming about springtime when the weather is warmer and we can spend some time at the park or going for walks in our neighborhood. Oh, but it is still cold and snowy and dark.

Every monday I put together a list of chores for myself to do that week. I finished my entire list on Monday afternoon. Of course there are always things I could do to keep myself productive and busy but motivation was a factor this week. And I was feeling a bit sorry for myself from the past few weeks events.

So, getting myself out of the dulldrums and trying to look at the brightside, here are the good things that happened this week...

1. Lucy stopped using bottles. There was a voice in the back of my head telling me it was time to give them up and it was. She hasn't even noticed. She still falls asleep in record time for both her naps and her bedtime.

2. I had bloodwork done on Monday and my beta levels (pregnancy hormone) had dropped to 270. Last week it was at 11,000. It needs to get down to zero but obviously it is on it's way there.

3. I have the most amazing, supportive friends. I got so many encouraging emails, cards, flowers, etc. this past week! You guys are the best!!

4. I got to level 3 on super mario brothers. Total waste of time but really fun. And Lucy loves to watch the "cartoon".

5. I got a label maker in the mail yesterday...ordered from amazon from a left over gift card from my birthday. I know, I'm a dork. I love making labels and getting things organized!

6. I booked a flight to HAWAII!!!!!! Jimmy will be out there for work and I am joining him for a long weekend. Just thinking about being in the sun gives me a whole new perspective on life!

  1. I got a Moleskine accordion file / organizer thing this week for organizing our receipts. I would show it to you, but you would be jealous, so I won't (unless you ask - then I can show you how I labeled each pocket with color labels containing each bank's logo ...)

  2. That's so awesomely nerdy! I have a home organization binder that I will have to show you. It's pretty amazing. Jimmy thinks it's silly but I think it's the coolest thing I've ever made. LOL.
