You today on your first birthday!!

This day one year ago you came into my life. One year ago today I was holding you in my arms for the first time.
You have changed again so much this month. I love to sit and watch you play, learn, try new things. Every day it is something different that holds your interest. Some days you will spend hours putting toys and blocks in your train and pushing that around. Other days you try to figure out stacking rings or sticking your tiny fists into the rings to see if they will fit.
We are pretty sure that you will be walking soon. You love to walk behind your push toy or holding on to someones hand. You just aren’t quite ready to let go yet. You have decided that you can get to where you need to go by crawling at super speed.
You learned how to blow kisses this month. I nearly melt into a puddle of goo every time you do it. And you love to catch me off guard with your cuteness.
You are adding new words to your vocabulary every day. The other day I swear I thought you said “I love my momma” but it might have been stretching it a bit (One of my favorite things to do is make sentences out of your baby gibberish). You now say mom, momma, dad, dog, cat, yuck, eyes, and have even attempted to say penguin.
You are becoming a little more independent every day. Your constant baby neediness is almost a distant memory. On my way to pick up your balloons for your party this morning I got a little weepy. I was thinking about meeting you for the first time one year ago. I will never forget that moment when I saw your little face for the first time. That little face that I had been imagining for nine long months. You have changed so much already…I can’t believe how fast this year has gone.
This year has been the most unexpected, fulfilling, amazing, challenging, wonderful year of my life. I had no idea how much I needed you in my life or how complete you would make our family until you became a part of it. Happy first birthday, little one.

I went to your FB page in the hopes of seeing 1st Birthday Pictures. Nada. So, I came here. Oh. My. Gosh. She was adorable on that special day! I LOVE her outfit. Nikki, you are such a great Mom.
